The Wartburg Festival is a music festival with events and concerts from classical to pop under the artistic direction of trumpeter Otto Sauter. Since 2004 it has been held annually in the Palas, the festival hall of the Wartburg, with artists such as the Italian soprano Lucia Aliberti, the altus Jochen Kowalski, the bass-baritone Klaus Mertens, the countertenor Edson Cordeiro, the pianist Josef Bulva, the dancer Motsi Mabuse, the author Ruediger Dahlke, the actors Mareike Carrière and Michael Mendl, Sting guitarist Dominic Miller, Level 42 keyboardist Mike Lindup and Ten of the Best.
